Below are just a small selection of the DJs now playing out after taking a course at Subbass, check out the clubs they have gone on to play!!

Advanced course student Mike Koglin has seen massive success behind the decks with DJ performances at globally renowned clubs such as Passion (UK), The Gallery (UK), Gaudi Arena (Russia), Heaven L.A. (USA), Euphoria (Cyprus), Club Helsinki (Finland), Velfarre (Japan), Club Code (Japan), Club Joule Osaka (Japan), Zouk (Malaysia), Onyx (Singapore), Vision Shanghai (China) on top of regular gigs in the UK and across Europe, whilst recent festival appearances include Belgium's Illusion Beach Festival, Finland's Millenium Event and the 2005 San Francisco Love Parade.

By no means the youngest DJ to graduate from Subbass DJ Academy, Chris Hartley believes that his experience of the dance music scene gives him an edge when it comes to tune selection. From the raves of 1989/90 through to Ibiza (via a spell in Goa in the early 1990’s), Chris has absorbed many influences from dance music over the best part of twenty years. Right now, that means that his sets are deep, electronic, techy and funk-fuelled!
Completing the Advanced DJ course at Subbass under the tuition of John Taylor was a turning point for Chris as a DJ. With a bit of extra guidance from Graeme Lloyd, Chris began to put his talents to the public test with sets around London – including slots at Turnmills and Herbal for Subbass.
Together with Danny Wakeling, and a pool of precocious DJ talent from the Subbass DJ forum, Chris formed Sub-Mission in late 2005 – with the aim of getting talented Subbass graduates gigs in their own right. Successful nights at Matt & Matt Bar in Islington were followed by a huge night at the Egg, supporting Papadiso in February, 2006. Together with Danny, Chris hopes to steer Sub-Mission to greater things in 2006 – watch this space!

Niki Holzhey had been working in the City as a Business Development Manager for the last 9 years and decided to take up DJing as a part-time hobby and a way to de-stress.  She took the Basic Course back in April 05 and has since played at Tao in the City and The Gallery at Turnmills. She has now quit her stressful City job and is looking at starting a serious career as a DJ .

Originally from the sunny shores of Sydney, Australia, Natasha completed the Advanced Dj Course and Subbass in July 2005. The knowledge, advice and guidance given to her by dj and tutor, Graeme Lloyd, enabled her to improve and refine her deckstrous skills. Soon after, we saw Natasha in the final of the prestigious Gallery/Subbass Dj comp, securing her a set at the famous Turnmills in November. The following month Natasha appeared on the airwaves for the first time as a guest Dj on Chillin 102Fm and also became a resident Dj for Vocal Records.2006 came in with a bang as Natasha played B2B with fellow Subbass student, Sophie Oliver at the biggest party on NYE as Heat and The Gallery joined forces at Brixton Academy. In February 2006, Natasha played alongside former Subbass students for Subbass’s little brother- Submission @ Egg where the mixture of styles, skill and personalities of the Subbass Djs, proved to be a successful formula. Natasha is soon to make another guest appearance on Chillin 102Fm, so stay tuned!

Since completing the basic and advanced Dj course in 2004, Mark has gone from strengh to strengh. In 2005 Mark set up his own night 'Preach' a house night evolving from a hedonistic house holiday in Ibiza. NYE 05 06 saw Preach and Subbass join forces to host the house room at Brixton academy and Mark played alongside other former students. 2006 also saw Mark play the opening set in T2 at Turnmills his name apearing on the same flyer as Graeme LLoyd, Sister Bliss and Armin Van Buren. Through Preach Mark has been able to offer sets to other former students and now works closely with Subbass Djing and promoting events.

Martin (DJ Styz) completed the advanced course back in 2003, enabling him to refine his techniques and expand his knowledge in the essential workings of the music industry. He has since with the support of the Subbass team managed to establish himself as a multi genre DJ in the commercial arena. Playing guest slot and securing residencies in various bars and clubs accross the London and Essex area.

In 2½ years Danny has gone from being a complete novice behind the decks to being a promoter and DJ playing at some of the most prestigious clubs in London including Egg, Turnmills and Herbal. With gigs at The Whitehouse in Clapham and Brixton Academy coming up, 2006 looks like it is going to be a storming year for Danny as a DJ and for the night he co-runs with Chris Hartley, Sub-Mission. Danny completed the Basic Weekend course in the summer of 2003, then onto the dvanced course a few months later (after some dedicated practicing time put in!!). Danny was then given a chance to play in the prestigious Gallery/Subbass DJ Competition, reaching the semi-final stage. By then the bug of playing infront of a crowded club had really bitten and these nights were quickly followed by stints at Turnmills again,
and for Starf*cker at Herbal. More recently Danny played at Egg for Sub-Mission, nearly lifting the roof off of the crowded loft with his mixture of Electro and Uplifting house music.

Sophie started out her journey as a DJ back in 1996 and some of her biggest gigs were in 2000/01, for Serious @ the Cross with Judge Jules, John Kelly, Norman Jay and Anne Savage headlining. Sophie has always been of the opinion that you never know it all. With this in mind she set about searching for a good place to learn new tricks and skills. In 2003 Sophie attended the Advanced DJ weekend course at Subbass with Jon Taylor. Since then Sophie decided to take her Djing much more seriously and has played @ The Egg for Dusted, in Ibiza @ Bar M, @ Brixton Academy NYE 2005 B2B with Subbass’s Natasaha Chamberlain

Ryan Milo first got the Dj bug back in 1988 when the early acid house music first started. I loved it and always wanted to dj in a big arena. I did not however get into Djing seriously until 2004 when I started to play in small bars in the North London area. By 2006 I felt that I needed to move onto another level as I was tired of playing cheesy music in small bars. I decided to enrol on Subbass’s Dj Course in May 2006. It was like a breath of fresh air. As a result of doing the basis course I decided to enrole onto the Advance and Turntablism course with Subbass. I feel that this has given me the confidence to be able to play at bigger venues as well as refining my dj skills. I have recently played at Turnmils in the prestigious Gallery/Subbass competition. This gave me great confidence as I was judged by well known dj’s from the Gallery and Subbass. I am also hoping that this is just the start and bigger and better things will follow.
