"January 12th 2009 was my first day at Subbass, the day I grabbed the bull by the horns and decided I was going to make the dream come true. June 17th 2010 it is today and I'm looking at the beatport page listing my debut EP. I played Ministry of Sound twice and this was my ticket to my current residency in Budapest, Hungary.

Subbass gave... me the chance to learn from the people who have the answers. What I learned in 1 month would have taken me several months if not years on my own. Besides the technical side of things their contacts in the industry really do matter. They gave me the chance to get on the bill for the Gallery@MoS and that's about as good as it's gets in terms of promoting yourself.
If you are serious about your DJ'ing and production then these are the guys you want to be getting in touch with. Who knows, you might even be in the same class as me as I'm moving over to Logic soon and Subass will be where I'll making that move. Dave Goethals - myspace.com/djdavegoethals"
Since writing this review in June 2010, Dave made the move to Logic with Subbass, and has has numerous tracks released, including a track included in the first release from our own Subbass Recordings Record Label. -

"After being a warm up DJ for Ministry of Sound for a year and playing artists songs on the radio day in day out, I wanted to start to produce something myself. I remember when I opened Logic for the first time and thought "Oh god, what do I do", and this is where Subbass came in. I signed up to the one month production course and I am so glad I did.

Graeme is such a great teacher, as its only 4 pupils in the class you get near 1 on 1 tuition starting from the basic's of opening the program for the first time and progressing through to the more advanced features.
Being on the course has also made me hear music differently. Now when I listen to my favorite artists you begin in your mind to dismantle the track and hear what it's made up of rather then just hearing the whole thing.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to start producing their own tracks as I promise you will walk out after finishing the course and think "Wow, how the hell did I learn so much in that amount of time"
If you have any questions just call them up or email, they are all so friendly and will go out of their way to help you out.
Would just like to say thank you again to Graeme and the team, had a great time with you and I hope to send you a finished track soon!" -

"If anyone of you ever thought about doing a course at Subbass - think no more! It is time to act! I recently completed 3 courses with Subbass and it was worth every penny. The team at Subbass consist of super talented & experienced people that has a true passion for the music. Three months after martin wrote this review we also recieved an e-mail from him saying... "Firstly, I must say that not a day goes by where I don’t think back to the incredible 5 weeks I got to spend at Subbass. It was really the best time of my life and I learned so much from all of you. Thanks for your efforts in promoting your students and providing a platform to promote their talent." Great feedback :) -

"Just finished the one month DJ and one month production courses. All I can say is If you want to start a career, discover a new hobby, or are just plain curious about DJing, or music production then Subbass is the place to get started. With each course only having a total of 4 students you get plenty of one to one time with the tutor's who are absolutely amazing. Not only are they fantastic teachers but also just really cool people to hang around at the studio with.

By the end of the first week I was producing decent tracks that I actually enjoyed listening to, and hitting the decks like I had been doing it for months. By the time my 4 weeks was up I had produced a number of tunes that I plan to send to Subbass's record label when they are completely finished. I can now make seamless mix's and actually know what I'm doing when DJing giving me the confidence to preform at clubs and other venues. Thanks to Subbass my dreams of one day becoming a music producer and DJ are finally starting to come together.
I never thought it was possible to go from not having any idea about making music and Djing to starting a career out of it in just one month. Going to Subbass has been the best decision I have ever made, and I mean that. Thank you Subbass for giving me direction in the world! If it wasn't for you I could have ended up living on the streets as an adult jobless. So if you wan't to be taught by professionals and spend one to one time with people who are actually in the business and have been producing music and DJing for years now, then this is the place to go you have my word." -

"I recently went through the Subbass 'making house music' and 'how to make electro and big beats' online courses and thought they were both fantastic. I have been studying music production when time permits over the last couple of years and having done several different online courses during that time overall i'd say these courses are amongst the very best resources i've ever found.

In comparison to other online courses out there I felt the material was all very well explained and broken down so I could actually understand for the most part exactly why x was being done and how to later use such ideas/techniques for my own purposes rather than just watching someone mimicking a track without really telling you why it is done this way or what to take from it as can be the case with other lesser competitors. Also as well as the general quality of the material, I was very pleased with the price and value for money, as when you look at what you get/learn on one of these courses for under £50 compared to something like point blank online who are charging over 7 times as much for a similar (and it could be argued especially in terms of downloadable notes and well known instructors not even as good an experience). In my opinion the Subbass online courses are clearly the number 1 choice for content and value for money, I know I will certainly be back to do more courses when they are available!
There were certainly many moments for me on the course where things that i'd previously found a bit confusing just 'clicked' and made sense to me finally. I therefore feel these courses have helped take my production knowledge and skills to the next level and i'm really grateful to Subbass for making them and would urge anyone with even a vague interest in bettering their production skills to sign up for one today"
