Dimension Sounds & CDR Producer Competition

We've partnered with CDR and Dimensions Festival to invite producers to take part in Dimension Sounds 2015.

This project aims to challenge the underground electronic music community by calling on forward- thinking producers to manipulate the Local Audio sounds submitted by other creatives to the project, and to incorporate them into their own music productions. The project provides the opportunity for music-creatives to connect around the world, and gives underground producers exposure via two of the most respected underground electronic events, Dimensions Festival and CDR.

“Dimensions is incredibly proud of the fact we attract such a diverse crowd of people with attendees coming from as far as Australia, Russia, Mexico and India. We feel that this project is a great way to represent this!” Andy Lemay – Marketing & Promotions Manager Dimensions Festival
.

Phase I of the project, Local Audio, saw 120 field recordings collected and submitted from across the globe. With sounds recorded from South America to Japan, Europe to South Africa, and the UK to Australia the sound palette is truly representative of the day-to-day sonic differences and similarities throughout the world.

Phase II, Dimension Sounds 2015, is calling for producers to create original works using the diverse palette of samples gathered, with one standout submission going on to feature on a vinyl release along with three other artists who are performing at this year’s festival.

They will also receive a tickets, flights and accommodation to the festival, a production or dj course from us (Subbass Academy), and have the opportunity to showcase their talent via a live or dj slot at Dimensions Festival 2015.

“This is a great way for us to extend a project to new and established producers, artists and music- heads, giving us the opportunity to spread the CDR ethos into the sun with our friends Dimensions Festival.” Tony Nwachukwu – Founder/Director, CDR

To kick things off for producers, the sounds have been compiled into WAV format, with Ableton Drum Racks, Native Instrument Maschine and Logic ESX24 specific kits a!vailable for download.

"I recently went through the SubBass 'making house music' and 'how to make electro and big beats' online courses and thought they were both fantastic... Overall I'd say these courses are amongst the very best resources I've ever found."
