Soon after SubBass student Dave Azu finished our DJ and Music Production courses, he signed with one of dance music's biggest labels - Nervous Recordings. Dave attended courses at SubBass and is now making some serious waves on the Beatport chart with new releases.
Dave first got into music when he bought his first decks at the tender age of 16 and got into electronic music inspired by the booming techno scene in his native Belgium. After studying at SubBass Academy in London Dave got the chance to play for SubBass at Ministry of Sound, this was the launch pad for gigs in Belgium, where he has been making a name for himself. Dave then turned his talents to production and returned to SubBass to complete the music production courses.
2010 was the year Dave got involved in music production and when the rubber really hit the road. A constant aim to make every production, every track, every piece of music better than the previous one and the knowledge that Rome wasn't built in a day, has seen Dave's music evolve from 'decent efforts' to material deemed competitive in today's cut throat music industry.
2014 was the year things started picking up with a first EP release on the legendary house label Nervous Records under the 'Dave Azu' guise. The release went up into the Beatport tech-house releases top 100 and one of the featured tracks in the Traxsource tech-house top 100.
On the back of this release Dave has been approached by established DJ's in Belgium to act as an engineer their upcoming releases. Not just content with releasing groovier tech-house sounds under his 'Dave Azu', Dave will be launching his techno project 'Fallout Kid' later on this year and has a first release agreed for his indie-dance project 'White Collar Funk'.
Well done Dave, we are all very proud of you
